Measures mitigating soil erosion, undertaken in the hills above the main villages, improve the agricultural livelihood in that area and at the same time protect lower lying dwellings from floods. Access to productive water significantly improves and with a relatively simple additional activity vulnerable households will also be able to use this water for consumption. Households will be supported in diversifying their livelihood taking into account the marketing possibility. At the same time these improved agricultural production provides the beneficiaries with an opportunity to improve their own nutrition intake.
