OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME:
To provide technical support to the Ministry of Health on malaria program to facilitate scaling up the malaria elimination strategy in persistent malaria foci and preparation of regional verification at Sumatera Island, Indonesia.
SUMMARY OF ASSIGNED DUTIES:
Under the direct supervision of Technical Officer (TO) – Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD)/Malaria and in close collaboration and coordination with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and partners the incumbent will
- Facilitate respective Provincial Health Offices (PHOs) and District Health Offices (DHOs) to do bottleneck analysis on the malaria situation and the occurrence of stagnancy of malaria progress toward elimination at targeted districts.
- Advocate to the provincial and district authorities to achieve malaria elimination as per set timeline by Ministry of Health.
- Advocate the active participation and empowerment of community in malaria prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and surveillance;
- Facilitate cross-border collaboration and coordination meetings, planning, budgeting, and developing timeframe of activities at health facilities, district and provincial level.
Provide technical guidance and build capacity of malaria officers, surveillance officers, and microscopists on malaria surveillance policies for areas towards elimination and maintenance phases:
Implementation of 1-2-5 policy.
Implementation of recording and reporting using e-SISMAL to ensure improvement of data quality and completeness.
Implementation of case and foci mapping.
Implementation of migration surveillance system.
Provide technical guidance to health staff for implementation of early diagnosis and treatment, and quality assurance of malaria diagnosis.
Provide technical support in implementation of activities funded by Ministry of Health, APBN, APBD, and other donors.
Provide technical support on documenting of all activities and archiving the supporting documents for verification process at 2025.
Develop monthly progress report and update analysis situation by end of 2020.
Perform any other duties as assigned by WR and Technical Officer (TO) Malaria (MAL) and Vector Borne Diseases Control (VBDC).

Sound understanding of principles of public health, to be able to provide quality technical inputs, and good problem-, analytical and negotiation skills solving
Education Qualifications:
Essential:
Master-Degree in Public Health or Medical Science
Desirable:
Post-graduate degree/PhD in Public Health or medical science or entomology from a recognized institution, or Medical Doctor (MD).
Experience:
Essential:
At least 2 (two) years of professional work experience in the field of malaria control and elimination at district or province or national level.
Desirable:
- Experience working with the Ministry of Health (MOH)/Provincial Health Office (PHO)/District Health Office (DHO)
- Experience working with international development organizations
- At least 5 (five) years of professional work experience in the field of malaria control and elimination at district or province or national level
Languages:
Advanced level of written and spoken English and native language skills in Bahasa Indonesia
Other Skills (e.g. IT):
Computer literacy: Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications and internet.
